Hello, I'm Mario.
About me
I'm a software engineer with a knack for solving problems and creating amazing products. Currently fully engaged on developing iOS apps. In the past I have worked as a Java backend engineer for a Fortune500 company, and have also conducted research in both mathematics and physics topics, using languages such as C, C++, and Python.
My experience
iOS Developer 
Independent
Working on full-stack web and iOS apps, leveraging technologies such as SwiftUI, Next.js, and Supabase.
2024 - PresentSoftware Engineer
Mindex | Paychex
Working on large-scale enterprise applications. Current stack consists of Java, Spring, Kafka, Jenkins, OpenShift, OracleDB, etc...
2022 - 2024Research Assistant
RIT Center for Computational Relativity & Gravitation
Developed mathematical models and simulations of black hole systems using C, C++, and Python. Co-authored several research articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
2020 - 2022Research Intern
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
Employed High-Performance Computing (HPC) techniques to simulate and analyze the time evolution of the Einstein Field Equations for black holes, utilizing trumpet initial data for enhanced accuracy and precision.
2021MPhil in Computational Physics
Newcastle University
Completed masters degree. Created and implemented (all in pure C++ code) a breakthrough algorithm that effectively models early universe bubble nucleation at zero and nonzero temperatures.
2018 - 2020MSc in Mathematical Physics
University of Edinburgh
Completed masters degree. Conducted research on supergravity topics such as superalgebras and N-branes.
2017 - 2018Mathematics Adjunct Faculty
Miami Dade College
Taught undergraduate-level mathematics (Algebra, Calculus & Ordinary Differential Equations). Students' feedback and evaluation were 100% positive!
2017BA/MA in Mathematics
City University of New York Hunter College
Completed combined bachelors/masters program. Finished with a perfect major (math) GPA of 4.00/4.00, and overall excellent GPA of 3.67/4.00.
2009 - 2016AstroCom NYC Astrophysics Intern
American Museum of Natural History
Conducted spectroscopical analysis of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs. Data gathered from telesocopes was parsed and processed using Python (Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Matplotlib). This led to the spectral classification of dozens of new celestial objects.
